A key part of the Screen Academy Scotland, a Skillset FIlm & Media Professional Practice Programme are the Masterclass Sessions we offer throughout the year. In the highly competitive arena of screen & media we believe it is crucial that our students are given as much opportunity as possible to learn and network with people actively working in the industry.
Throughout the year we schedule a range of masterclasses as part of larger Professional Practice workshops or as standalone events.
Masterclasses this year have included:

Visiting Lecturers
We also provide access to  industry professionals as a regular part of our postgraduate programmes. Visiting Lecturers this year have included:

Our students regularly collaborate with the Scottish Documentary Institute and many of our students have gone on to direct short documentaries through SDI's short docs programme Bridging the Gap. Additionally SDI regularly host Masterclasses which students and alumni are welcome to attend. This year masterclasses with Scottish Documentary Institute have included Nick Broomfield, Nicholas Philibert, Simon Chinn ( producer of Man on Wire) and many more filmmakers from fiction as well as documentary- such as Cannes winning Sergei Dvortsevoy, and twice Oscar nominated editor Janus Jensen.
