Marianne Gallagher
Art Department Trainee 2011/12

As a Screen NETS trainee, Marianne wanted to particularly focus on training in graphics and physical or visual effects and to work on longer and larger professional projects/ build up her industry contacts. Marianne completed on the job training in graphics and physical effects on feature films Under the Skin starring Scarlett Johansson directed by Jonathan Glazer (Sexy Beast), and graphics training on Filth, an adaptation of an Irvine Welsh novel, directed by Jon S Baird and starring James McAvoy and Jamie Bell.  She also worked on TV drama Doors Open, based on an Ian Rankin novel, adapted by Screen Academy Scotland's own James Mavor, starring Stephen Fry and produced by Sprout Pictures.

As a Screen NETS trainee, Marianne  also attended short courses on Risk Assessment for Film & TV, First Aid at work,  BECTU's VFX workshop in Glasgow and Solidworks.

Where is she now? Marianne has just finished working as an Art Dept assistant on feature film Not Another Happy Ending.

Ayden Millar
Art Department Trainee 2011/12

Ayden is being supported with Career Development through Screen NETS and spent a week with the art dept on MI High. As a Screen NETS trainee Ayden completed courses in First Aid work and Risk Assessment for Film & TV.

Ayden is a graduate of RSAMD (now Royal Conservatoire of Scotland) and has worked as Art Department Assistant for Foundation TV’s Ultimate Sports Day, Life of Riley, Waybuloo and Counting with Rodd for Tumeric Media, and on short films Clach and Floating is Easy.  She was also an Assistant Scenic Artist for Black Camel’s Outpost II: Black Sun
