Fee: £1,250 full fee / £1000 concessions- course price includes cost of 1 exam attempt (normally £75 plus VAT) and book (normally £25).  We do not charge VAT
Limited Places: 4 people max (to ensure each person has their own computer)

Funding
This course is eligible for a Creative Skillset Craft and technical Bursary. You can apply for up to a maximum of £800 if you are a freelancer and up to £500 if you are an employee. Course Overview
This course will provide you with exposure to the core skills, workflow, and concepts involved in nonlinear editing on Avid Media Composer 6 divided into two parts:

- MC 101 Avid Media Composer Part 1: Editing Essentials
- MC 110 Avid Media Composer Part 2: Effects Essentials
Need to complete both, and pass the exam, to be Avid Media Composer Certified User

Session time is divided between demonstration and hands-on practice, with ample time for experimentation with sample material.

Avid Media Composer video editing software is used for both online and offline editing. Avid systems have been used to create more of the world’s films, television shows and commercials than any other editing system.

Qualification
This is a fully certified Avid Course so course participants will receive Avid Avid Media Composer User Certification after successful completion of the Avid authorised exam which assess a candidate's ability to use advanced techniques and tools with Avid Media Composer. You need to do all five days (both MC6 101 and MC6 110 courses) for Level 1 Avid certification. Please note due to updates in MC6 previous 101 certifications are no longer valid so you may need to take this course to update your certification. 

Tutor
Tina Gonzalez has been working in broadcast television for over 15 years as an editor and compositor.  She has worked in production houses and broadcast television companies on a wide range of factual, drama and light entertainment as well as corporate and promos.  Clients include BBC, Granada, Channel 4, and Sky.  She has also produced short films for the Kino film festival and continues to produce and edit short films.  Tina is currently lecturing, working as a freelance editor, and studying an MSc by research in interactive art and cinema. Tina has been an Avid MC certified trainer for 5 years.

Who’s it for?
Producers, editors, assistant editors and the novice or intermediate Avid user.

Prerequisites
It covers editing and effects techniques for both Macintosh and Windows systems. This course assumes that you are familiar with the language of editing and you will benefit most from the course if you have some experience of video or film editing. However, no prior experience of editing with Avid is expected.
