Gain dynamic and industry relevant training that prepares you for a career in the media industry on one of the UK's longest running journalism courses. From the start, we treat you not just as a student but as a working journalist and challenge you to produce work of a high standard so you can excel in a newsroom environment.
Convergence is the key word in modern news so you'll research and create content for a range of media including radio, TV, online and print. The course is constantly updated to reflect the fast-changing needs of news organisations as the digital revolution unfolds.
You'll gain valuable industry experience with a work placement where you can apply your knowledge to a real media environment. You'll also help to produce an annual magazine which is distributed throughout Edinburgh. You'll be involved in sourcing and writing copy, sub-editing features, designing the layout, and selling advertising space. This gives you vital experience and a professional publication that you can show to prospective employers.
