Bloody Big Documentary!

BA Film and BA Television students at Edinburgh Napier University have begun work on an exciting collaborative documentary project about period poverty. The film takes its inspiration from the Scottish Government’s ground-breaking initiative to provide free period products in all schools, colleges and universities and will look into the scale of the problem and the stigma and challenges faced by girls and women around menstruation.  The film will also follow Edinburgh Napier BDes Product Design students who are working on solutions to integrating this policy within Edinburgh Napier University and will travel with the team to Uganda where they will research international contexts and projects tackling sustainable period provision. The film is directed by Cosima de los Arcos (4th yr BA Film) and Produced by Lizzie Gardiner (3rd yr BA Film). The project has been coordinated by Product Design lecturer, Ruth Cochrane, Dr. Kirsten Macleod and SACI placements officer, Lindsay Morgan and has received funding from Santander Mobility Grants and other funding initiatives. If you are interested in contributing to the project please contact Dr. Kirsten MacLeod: k.macleod2@napier.ac.uk
