Screen NETS trainees 2019 moving on in the industry!
We are delighted to announce that our Screen NETS trainees 2019 having completed their 6 month training programme with us, are now moving on and into positions within the industry. The 5 trainees, Andrew MacLellan Camera, Gavin Luna, Locations, Kayleigh Dick, Costume, Kelt Saunders, Grip and Erin McNeill, Production Office, worked on UK and International Feature Film and High End TV Drama productions shooting in Scotland.
Andrew MacLellan, Camera Trainee worked on Sam Mendes' feature film 1917 before moving on to placements and shadowing on BBC TV children’s dramas Molly & Mack and The Demon Headmaster. He also worked on TV Drama series Guilt, The Nest and single drama Elizabeth is Missing. Andrew was Camera Trainee on The Small Hand, a single drama, directed by Justin Molotnikov for Awesome Entertainment/Two Rivers Media production for Channel 5. Since leaving Screen NETS Andrew has worked on a multi camera music programme and on High End TV Drama Outlander.
Gavin Luna, Locations Trainee worked on Succession the high end TV drama series for HBO starring Brian Cox, and Deadwater Fell the Channel 4 series produced by Kudos and directed by Lynsey Miller. He then moved on to single drama Elizabeth is Missing and The Nest the TV Drama series by Studio Lambert for BBC Drama directed by Andy de Emmony and written by Nicole Taylor (Wild Rose, Three Girls). Following Screen NETS Gavin has been offered freelance work on Block 2 of The Nest.
Kayleigh Dick, Costume Trainee worked on TV drama for HBO Succession, Elizabeth is Missing and The Small Hand. Since leaving Screen NETS Kayleigh has worked on High End TV Drama Outlander and is now working on Feature Film Falling for Figaro
Kelt Saunders, Grip Trainee worked on Succession and TV Drama for Kudos/Channel 4 Deadwater Fell before moving onto The Nest. Kelt also worked on feature film Fast & Furious 9, starring Vin Deisel, Charlize Theron and Helen Mirren, directed by Justin Lin, which shot in Edinburgh. Kelt also had opportunities on Outlander and The Demon Headmaster and has been kept on for Block 2 of The Nest.
Erin McNeill, Production Office Trainee, worked on 1917 the feature film directed by Sam Mendes and Elizabeth is Missing before moving onto The Nest. Erin has now joined the production team of Black Camel’s Falling For Figaro – a feature film to be shot in the New Year directed by Ben Lewin.
The 2019 Screen NETS Trainees were selected in April and began their placements on May 1st. All of our trainees have now gone onto paid work upholding the Screen NETS record of 100% employment amongst trainees. Screen NETS on the job training was devised by Screen NETS Programme Manager Kay Sheridan and delivered from Screen Academy Scotland, Edinburgh Napier University by Screen NETS Delivery Manager Catherine Aitken. Screen NETS is a programme of on the job training in high-end TV and feature productions supported by Screen Scotland.
