Kerstin Stutterheim

Kerstin Stutterheim is an award-winning filmmaker, author, dramaturg, and internationally acknowledge academic, she has been teaching film practice and theory with many years of national and international experience. 

She joined SACI in September 2021. Before, she was Rector (principal) of the Academy of Media Arts Cologne – KHM (Germany), and Professor of Artistic Research as well there. She is also Visiting Professor at the Game Design Department at HTW Berlin. She is member of the board of the German Screenwriting Research Network, of German Film Academy, and member of the editorial Board of a series on Classics in East European Cinema, to mention only a few. 

Her most relevant publications are the ‘The 21st Century film, TV and media school: Teaching Documentary for the 21st Century’ (2024, ISBN 978-619-7358-13-1 ) as lead  her monograph ‘Modern Film Dramaturgy – An Introduction’ was published with Peter Lang (ISBN 978-3631796504  ).
