The Fog of Srebrenica a short documentary by Scottish-Bosnian filmmaker, and Screen AcademyScotland, ECA Film & TV MA graduate, Samir Mehanovic isscreening in London on July 7th at the Bertha DocHouse, the UK first Documentary Cinema, in partnership with Remembering Srebrenica. The Fog of Srebrenica, is about the genocide in the ‘safe haven’ of Srebrenica in 1995 when 8,372 Bosnian men and boys were killed in one week. Following the screening Director Samir Mehanovic will be in conversation with broadcaster, barrister and writer, Hashi Mohamed.
The Fog of Srebrenica won the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) Special Jury Award in 2016 for mid-length documentary. Samir’s film,
Remembering Srebrenica aims to teach current and future generations about the consequences of hatred and intolerance in UK communities through learning the lessons of Srebrenica. The charity is delighted to be working in partnership with acclaimed director Samir Mehanovic in order to raise awareness of this appalling genocide that took place 21 years ago.
