I chose to study the MA Screenwriting at Screen Academy Scotland because it is recognised by Creative Skillset as a UK centre of excellence in film education. The MA Screenwriting course also includes writing across a range of formats, film, TV and new media. And I was excited to study in Edinburgh a lovely city with a great arts and cultural scene!

The MA Screenwriting was even better than I had hoped. The course work helped me to deepen my knowledge before going on to develop my final written project, a musical feature film set during Brazilian Carnival. I had never written a musical before but the course structure gave me the opportunity to research the genre and develop my screenwriting skills and confidence so that I could write a good piece of work.

After I finishing my MA, I have worked as a screenwriter in Brazil on a feature film, a prospective horror TV series and a prospective children animated series. All of these projects were commissioned for development by the Brazilian National Film Agency and are currently at the fundraising stage. The MA Screenwriting at Screen Academy Scotland gave me confidence, tools and knowledge to do a good job!
