Bridging the Gap the unique talent development programme from the Scottish Documentary Institute this year has the theme of WOMEN. Four inspiring yet very different new shorts all made by female directors are the result and will be screening on the 17th of June at Edinburgh International Film Festival as part of the Bridging the Gap strand. We are thrilled that of the 4 films screening two are projects from Screen Academy Scotland graduates.

The Review, by Wilma Smith (MA Screenwriting, Screen Academy Scotland, Edinburgh Napier) tells the story of a devoted football family waiting to find out if their 13 year old son is staying in the local professional youth team. The Swan, produced by Anne Milne (MFA Film Directing, Screen Academy Scotland, Edinburgh College of Art) and directed by Lindsay Brown tells the story of teenager April who facing her 16th birthday, reaches for independence.
