In this 1-day masterclass at the Screen Academy Scotland, Edinburgh Napier Production Centre, One of Australia’s most successful comedians reveals the principles of comedy writing. Tim Ferguson offers processes and insights necessary for writers to expand their skills base into writing comedy for television, literature, theatre and film.
The course focuses upon the principles of comedy sub-genres, narrative humour, comic character development and narrative jokes. Tim’s proven techniques are accessible and practical.

These are intensive sessions, not for the fainthearted, and Tim would like those who come to be there for the entire day as some of the session is group workshop-oriented. There will be an hour break for lunch from 1pm – 2pm

TIM FERGUSON
Tim Ferguson is a widely acclaimed comedian, writer and producer. He has toured the world performing stand-up and musical comedy, writing dozens of live stage comedy shows and light entertainment programmes, as well as writing, starring in or producing/directing sitcoms. Tim lectures in narrative comedy and screenwriting at the RMIT School of Media & Communication in Melbourne and conducts comedy writing workshops for AFTRS, the Writers Guild, various universities and writer’s festivals.  This session will be his first Masterclass in the UK.
