Great news that on May 30th Jamie Braidwood, Edinburgh Napier BA (Hons) Journalism student won Best Podcast of the Year at the Scottish Student Journalism Awards which took place at at Glasgow’s St Andrew’s in the Square yesterday, with more than 200 students, academics and industry leaders attending. Jamie Braidwood and the team at Radio ENRG also won Best Student Website of the Year and Jamie was also nominated for Sports Story of the Year. Other Edinburgh Napier students nominated were Cameron Ward for Broadcast Journalism of the Year and Daniel Tully for Feature of the Year.

Congratulations too all student winners and nominees and also to the Edinburgh Napier journalism programme team for their excellent support and encouragement of our students.  A great way to end the undergraduate year!!

Speakers on the night were STV news anchor, John Mackay, and veteran music journalist, John Dingwall. For the first time, the event was run in partnership with the Scottish Newspaper Society and in association with BBC Scotland. Scottish Newspaper Society director, John McLellan, said: “The Scottish Students Journalism Awards are a brilliant showcase for young journalists, and our congratulations go to all the winners and finalists.
