Fantastic news that Tomorrow Might be the Day, the latest short from Josefa Celestin (MA Film, Edinburgh Napier) is having its world premiere at Edinburgh International Film Festival on the 27th of June. The film (working title Treading Water) one of 6 Scottish Shorts commissioned by the Scottish Film Talent Network in 2017, was written by Josefa and fellow Screen Academy Scotland graduate Max Barth (MA Screenwriting) and produced by Magarita Verberaite (MA Film, Edinburgh Napier).
Josefa’s graduation film Event Horizon (also produced by Margarita Verberaite) was picked up by Insolence Productions, a French production company, at Paris Court Devant in 2015. Since then Event Horizon has screened at 35 international festivals, won five prizes and was shortlisted for the UNIFRANCE Prize in Cannes 2017. Event Horizon is now travelling across France as part of ‘L’extraCourt’ a program run by ‘L’agence du Court métrage’ (L’Extra Court https://www.lextracourt.com) which showcases shorts before feature films in cinemas. After screening at the Oberhausen International Film Festival in Germany, the organisers acquired the rights to show Event Horizon to younger audiences in German schools.
