We are delighted to announce that award winning Edinburgh based filmmaker Hope Dickson Leach will be a regular visitor to Screen Academy Scotland this year. At the invitation of MA Screenwriting Programme Leader James Mavor, Hope who is a writer/director will deliver lectures and mentoring to the MA Screenwriting, MA Film and MFA Advanced Film Practice students at Edinburgh Napier. Later this term Hope will deliver a masterclass at Screen Academy Scotland on her feature film debut The Levelling which had its World Premiere at TIFF in September and is screening in competition at the BFI London Film Festival (Oct 5th – 16th).
Hope was recently awarded the inaugural IWC Filmmaker Bursary presented in association with the British Film Institute (BFI). The award, which is worth £50,000, is the most significant of its kind in the UK film Industry. Hope was presented the award by actor Cate Blanchett at a ceremony in London on October 4th.
