Screen Academy Scotland was delighted to host a Women in Film & Television event on Thursday March 8th in celebration of International Women’s Day.

Conceived and organised by Dr. Kirsten Macleod and LIndsay Morgan the evening event, which was part of myFuture Career Week,  included a panel session followed by a Q&A. The panel included Pirate Productions Annie Griffin the film and television writer/director of amongst others,The Book Group and Fresh Meat for Channel 4, Louise Lockwood, a documentary director of the multi award winning series Fair Isle: LIving on the Edge, Carolann Burns who’s work centers around audio for visual art and performance and Karolina Mazur the artist filmmaker of the Bafta winning film The Dipper from the Water of Leith. All were on hand to discuss their work trajectories and to give advice to student filmmakers just beginning their professional careers. The evening also included a networking session in the Screen Academy gathering area.
