Screen Academy Scotland, in partnership with Scottish Drama Training Network, are delighted to present a rare Q&A opportunity with international Film and TV Director Tom Vaughan. Tom, originally from Helensburgh, now lives and works in the USA and has directed several award winning Film and TV productions.

Tom’s latest television work includes the BAFTA winning drama Doctor Foster (BBC/Netflix). A five part contemporary revenge drama, it was 2015’s highest rated new drama in the UK and won numerous national awards. Victoria, (ITV/Masterpiece) a lavish series about Queen Victoria which has been nominated for several National TV Awards and The Son (AMC) a period drama based on a fictional Texan family starring Pierce Brosnan.

Tom’s movie work includes Starter for 10 (HBO Films/BBC Films) – an 80s coming of age comedy starring James McAvoy, Benedict Cumberbatch, Rebecca Hall, James Corden and Charles Dance. What Happens in Vegas (20th Century Fox) – an international hit comedy starring Cameron Diaz, Ashton Kutcher and Zach Galfinakis; medical drama Extraordinary Measures (CBS Films) starring Harrison Ford, Brendan Fraser and Keri Russell and romantic comedy Some Kind of Beautiful (Southpaw Entertainment) starring Pierce Brosnan, Salma Hayek, Jessica Alba and Malcolm McDowell.

Upcoming projects include directing Press a five part drama for BBC/Masterpiece/Amazon about the world of contemporary newspapers written by award winning playwright Mike Bartlett.
