Fantastic news that MFA Advanced Film Practice student Kelly Holmes won the top prize at Paris Courts Devant in December with her graduation short film Family Portrait.
Paris Courts Devant C3PM is a co-production postproduction film market allowing filmmakers the chance to collaborate with French producers and finish postproduction on films that have already been through production. 6 filmmaking teams pitch to gain the attention of producers and 1 film wins the grand prize of a broadcast contract with France’s 2nd biggest TV channel ‘France 3’ and a grade with Film Factory Paris. Winning the prize will give Kelly the opportunity to work with industry professionals and will hopefully open the door to international collaborations and increased the audience for the film.”
Synopsis of Family Portrait
Margaret must convince her daughter Louise to take responsibility after the death of her father, whilst keeping up the appearances with a ‘family portrait’ for their uncle. But if Louise agrees to do this, it will means losing her freedom.
We were delighted that another Screen Academy Scotland student graduate film Event Horizon was also at Paris Courts Devant. Event Horizon attracted post production support from Insolence Productions.
