Congratulations to SAS alumni Ben Sharrock and Irune Gurtubai whose first feature film Pikadero has won the Critic’s Choice Award at Zurich Film Festival. Pikadero grew out of their BAFTA Scotland award winning short film Patata Tortilla which tells the story of a young, penniless couple in the Basque region of Spain who, unable to fly the nest due to the economic crisis, have trouble consummating their fledgling relationship. The film recently premiered at the San Sebastian Film Festival in Sept. The film was also recently reviewed by Filmmaker magazine:
