On Feb 12th and 13th Screen Academy Scotland ran a Production Bootcamp for MA/MFA film students at Edinburgh Napier and Edinburgh College of Art. The first course of its kind offered at SAS, the Bootcamp covered the essentials of production and included sessions from Rosie Ellison, Edinburgh Film Focus, The Police Scotland Firearms licensing Unit and Production workshops with Production Manager Susie Brown and 2nd AD Rory Stewart.
The workshops over the two days took a variety of formats including quizzes, exercises, talks and screenings. Session topics included Turning the Industry Green with Kay SHeridan and SHian Holt, Working with Volunteer Cast and Crew, Working with Children and a breakdown and an analysis of a scene from Martin Scorcese’s Goodfellas.
