EAch year Edinburgh International Film Festival supports new filmmaking talent through EIFF Talent Lab and this year we are delighted that once again a number of our talented graduates will be taking part: screenwriters Laura Anne Anderson (MA Screenwriting, Screen Academy Scotland Edinburgh Napier) and  John Gibb (MA Screenwriting, Screen Academy Scotland Edinburgh Napier) and director Robin Haig (MFA Advanced Film Practice, Screen Academy Scotland, Edinburgh Napier)Laura has most recently worked on BAFTA award winning series 3 of the CBBC show OOglies as a screenwriter.  John was the screenwriter on Rat King which is screening at EIFF this year as part of Scottish Shorts 2016).  Robin Haig recently won a BAFTA New Talent Award for Best Drama for her student graduation film Hula starring Blythe Duff.

Over four days during the festival, EIFF Talent Lab gives up-and-coming filmmakers the opportunity to learn from the world’s key film industry players. Emerging Scottish, UK and international directors, producers and screenwriters will be offered the unmissable chance to discuss the industry, their projects and their ideas with a selection of invited industry professionals including sales agents, executive producers, literary agents, story editors and distributors.
