Screen Academy Scotland screenwriting students were invited for a studio visit to River City, BBC Studios by Jessica Connell, Assistant Story Producer. The students were welcomed by Executive Producer Kieran Hannigan and Story Producer Stuart Hepburn who gave them an outline of how River City is structured to produce 52 hours of broadcast drama per year. This was followed by a guided tour of the studios and backlot. It was an impressive 2 hours where the students were able to get essential information about how to get work as script editors, screenwriters or on the story team. Especially useful were top tips on how to get noticed and how to find work.
Both Kieran Hannigan and Jessica Connell are Screen Academy Scotland alumna of the MA Screenwriting course.
