January 2025, film enthusiasts are invited to a series of screenings and symposiums focusing on creativity and eco-narratives in film.
Starting on January 22nd, Cameo cinema will showcase short films from Screen Academy staff and students, highlighting emerging talents and innovative storytelling.
On January 23rd, the morning symposium at RSE will bring together filmmakers, academics, and environmentalists to discuss sustainability in cinematic narratives. Later that day, Cameo will screen the documentary “Daughter of the Lake,” exploring themes of heritage and environmental issues.
The symposium continues on January 24th with further discussions on eco-narratives, culminating in an afternoon screening at EVERYMAN of the feature drama “Itu Ninu,” which delves into identity and cultural consciousness.
Join us for this vibrant celebration of film as a catalyst for social change and environmental awareness.
In the context of the AHRC project Engaging with Sustainable Materials and Approaches in Film, Screen Academy Scotland is organising a number of free screenings and a two day symposium. Activities are free and open to the public but ticketed.
