We are delighted to announce that Transit Zone the graduate film of Frederik Subei (Screen Academy, ECA) will screen at Edinburgh International Film Festival in the Out of Bounds strand on the 24th of June. Transit Zone has also been accepted to Sheffield DocFest and will screen there June 13th.

Frederik Subei’s documentary, Transit Zone, about the lives of refugees in the Jungle is going from strength to strength showing in festivals nationally and internationally and was recently awarded a Special Jury Mention at one of the most prestigious documentary film festivals in the world, Visions du Reel in Switzerland. Fred is a graduate from 2015 MA Film Directing course at ECA/ Screen Academy. Transit Zone is screening at 18.15 on Friday 24th June at Cineworld 12 as part of Out of Bounds: Student Shorts at EIFF
Also, as part of Scottish Refugee Week and thanks to the Scottish Refugee Council, there will be an exhibition at the Glasgow Gallery of Modern Art called Transit Zone’ featuring shorter video works from Frederik as well as photos from the jungle by Iman Tajik. In March Transit Zone screened at Glasgow Short Film Festival as part of Scottish Competition 2: Where Are We Now? and also had its UK premiere at the London Short Film Festival in January 2016.
