In April we were delighted to co-host along with BAFTA Scotland, a QA with Kate Dickie and Paul Higgins following a screening of their latest film Couple in a Hole. The two stars were in conversation with screenwriter (and Screen Academy Screenwriting Programme Leader) James Mavor at Cineworld, Fountain Park before an audience of BAFTA members and Screen Academy Scotland Students. The event was followed by further conversation and networking in the Cineworld bar.

That afternoon Kate and Paul delivered an Acting Masterclass at Screen Academy Scotland, Edinburgh Napier by for postgraduates which was facilitated by director Hope Dickson Leach. Couple in a Hole, which was released on April 8th, is about a Scottish couple who end up living like savages in a hole in the middle of a vast forest in the French Pyrenees. At the masterclass Paul and Kate told first-hand what attracted them to the script, what challenges and opportunities it presented for them and what the director and production did to help support their cast. This session also looked at the importance of the script, the relationship with the director, crew and the role of the production and the craft of the actor.
