A recent survey of Edinburgh Napier postgraduate filmmaking students’ employability showed that more than 60% of our graduates from the last three years are currently working in a role related to their degree. 

Below are some recent highlights of the employment and festival success of our graduates:

EUDAIMONIA – Fantastic news that the cinematographers on Juri Krutii’s MFA Advanced Film Practice, 2018 graduation film, Eudaimonia, Igua Cuiral (MA Film, Camera, 2016) and Claire Murphy (MA Film, Camera, 2017), have both been nominated for the Best Cinematography Award at the Underwire Film Festival 2018. Eudaimonia will also be screened as part of The Future Belongs to Us short strand on the opening night of Underwire in London on 16th of November. In other news Eudaimonia has also been selected for the Inverness Film Festival and will be screening on November 11th as part of the Short Cuts 4 strand:

Reece Cargan (MA Film, Production, 2018) is currently working as a Production Trainee with Sigma Films on The Sopranos a feature film written by Alan Warner and directed by Michael CAton-Jones. Reece landed this paid traineeship before he graduated from the MA Film in November.

Rosanne Wilke (MA Film, Editing, 2017) is currently working as an Edit Trainee on a the Channel 4 series Chimerica

Charlotte Henderickx (MA Screenwriting, 2018) and Aimie Willemse (a current MA Screenwriting student) were both longlisted out of hundreds of submissions for The Pitch competition. Charlotte was longlisted for her project Hester:

Screen Academy Graduates working on feature film LImbo Award winning filmmakers and Screen Academy graduates Ben Sharrock (MA Film,MFA ADvanced Film Practice 2014) and Irune Gurtubai (MA Film,MFA ADvanced Film Practice 2014) are currently on location in North and South Uist shooting their second feature film Limbo. Other Screen Academy graduates working on Limbo include editor Karel Dolak (BA Film, MFA Advanced Film Practice) and MA Film graduate Sean Hind who is working as floor runner.
