In November 2014 we were thrilled to host a masterclass with renowned 1st AD Tommy Gormley. Fresh from his win at the British Academy Scotland (BAFTA) ceremony in Glasgow on the 16th Nov where he won an award for Outstanding Contribution to Craft, Tommy spoke to students about his career journey from being a Production Runner to becoming the 1st AD of choice in Hollywood.
Speaking to a full house of Screen Academy staff and students Tommy regaled us with fantastic behind the scenes insights into filmmaking and working with the best Directors out there from Ken Loach to J.J. Abrams.
Following his masterclass we interviewed Tommy about his career and his advice to students wanting the work in the film industry.
